Dear Hokushin members and friends,
I am happy to let you know we will be returning to our old home at the Goodwood Primary School Gymnasium on Sunday the 6th of February, so our final training at Gilles Street will be this Sunday (January 30th).
We will also be returning to two training sessions per week:
Sunday: 10:00am – 11:00am
Wednesday: 7:00pm – 8:00pm
The Goodwood Primary School is located at 140 Goodwood Road, Goodwood and is close to the Goodwood Tram stop (stop 3); or if travelling by train, the Goodwood Station. If you travel by bus it is near Stop 4 Goodwood Rd (Eastern side) and Stop 4 Goodwood Rd (Western side). If you are travelling by car it is best to park behind the school on Hampton St South.

The final training session at Honbu in Adelaide will be on the 19th of December and will be starting again on January the 9th 2011.
It is possible that we will be heading back to our old home in Goodwood, and our previous training times, in the New Year.

The Reynella Dojo will be closing over the Christmas break. The final class is December 9th, and the first class of the new year January 20th. Students are of course most welcome to train at other Dojos over the break.
We will be having an end of year lunch on Saturday 11th December at Damien’s house. Please contact him for more details.

We have decided to change the venue for the end of year BBQ to Souter Park in Goodwood.

Starting: 12:30 – 1:00pm
If anyone has a portable BBQ they can bring please let Takeo Sensei or me know. We may also need some portable shade.

There will be a tameshigiri session at the Adelaide Honbu Dojo (剣皇館) on Sunday the 31st of October. The class will commence an hour early (1:00pm) and run till 3:00pm.
The cost for the day will be $15.
Please let us know if you would like to assist with collecting bamboo.

The Reynella Neighbourhood Centre celebrated it’s 21st birthday on Sunday. Zen Shin Kan students Oli and Connor joined me in performing a demonstration during the event. We had a great crowd, and the guys performed very well.

This Wednesday 22nd September Sensei Takeo and Damien will be giving a demonstration of Iaido for the Moon Lantern Festival, part of the OzAsia Festival in Adelaide. The demo begins at 4:10 in Elder Park in the city, and will include single and paired waza and tameshigiri (bamboo cutting). Come along to and say hi.
